
Biography of Mr. David Deon Lawton
Mr. David Deon Lawton is a South Georgia native, entrepreneur, photographer, nonprofit executive, public administrator, and community leader whose work spans business, public service, education, and philanthropy throughout North Florida and South Georgia.
Deon is the owner of Deon’s Event Rentals and Deon’s Event Center, where he provides event rental services, professional Photography, creative design, and venue management. Through his businesses, he has helped countless individuals, families, organizations, and communities bring their events and special occasions to life. His entrepreneurial efforts have expanded throughout North Florida and South Georgia, reflecting his commitment to serving both urban and rural communities.
A passionate advocate for community engagement and leadership development, Deon also works as a local political consultant, assisting candidates, elected officials, and community leaders with public outreach, communications, grassroots organizing, and constituent engagement. He is dedicated to helping communities identify practical solutions to local challenges and build partnerships that create lasting impact.
In 2024, Deon founded Jacob’s Tiny Miracles Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization inspired by the memory of his late son, Jacob Davion. As Founder and Executive Director, he works to support families of premature and medically fragile infants throughout South Georgia and North Florida by connecting them with resources, advocacy, and direct assistance during some of life’s most challenging circumstances.
Deon is also deeply committed to education and mentorship. He previously served as a facilitator and mentor with Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry through the Blackstone LaunchPad Initiative, where he taught entrepreneurship workshops and helped students develop sustainable business concepts and leadership skills.
His academic achievements include an Associate of Arts degree with Honors from Tallahassee Community College; a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design with a concentration in Photography, magna cum laude, from Florida A&M University; and a Master of Applied Social Science in Public Administration from Florida A&M University. He is currently completing a Master of Arts in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design (November 2026). He has also been recently accepted into the Doctor of Public Administration program at Keiser University.
An active community servant, Deon serves on the Community Advisory Board of the Tallahassee Lenders Consortium, is a Past Master of Englewood Masonic Lodge No. 399 (Fitzgerald, GA), Prince Hall Affiliated, and serves as Associate Patron of Beth Eden Chapter No. 63, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association. Deon is also a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL under the leadership of Reverend Dr. R.B. Holmes, Jr.
Above all, Deon considers fatherhood his greatest accomplishment. He is the proud father of Jelani and Michael and honors the memory of his late son, Jacob Davion, through his continued service to others. Through business, nonprofit leadership, public service, and education, Deon remains committed to empowering individuals, strengthening organizations, and making a meaningful difference in the communities he serves.
